Pompallier on Ponsonby – May 2025 Update: Rising from the Ground

Set in the heart of Three Lamps our exclusive, modern-heritage, mixed use precinct is beginning to take physical shape - and with each passing week the vision is becoming increasingly tangible.

We are five months into the build of Pompallier on Ponsonby (aka PoP), which will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Breaking Ground: The last few months on site

Over the past few months, the CMP construction team has been hard at work- with locals no doubt glimpsing the large green crane visible on the Ponsonby skyline.

Recent highlights include:

  • Completion of the foundation piles & bond beams.
  • The 1908 Heritage Building has been stripped back to the structural fabric with restoration and strengthening commenced.
  • And the little yellow digger that looked microscopic when craned in onsite (see photo)

This incredible drone footage offers just a glimpse into the progress, but already the essence of PoP is beginning to appear.

Looking Ahead

With the foundational milestones almost complete and the bulk excavation well underway, the focus in the coming weeks starts to shift to the structural environment.

In the coming weeks we will see the completion of the basement level concrete slab and shotcrete to the perimeter walls, with the carpark ramps starting shortly after.

Every phase is guided by a commitment to upholding the historic elements of the original building, a deep respect for the future residents who will call Pompallier on Ponsonby home, and the local Auckland community who will enjoy coming together here to shop and dine.
